mid-century-mushroom-table-lamp
Mid-Century Mushroom Table Lamp – Cordless, Rechargeable

A smooth dome shade on a slim stem, with a soft glow underneath: this little mushroom lamp brings a touch of mid-century charm to any table. It is cordless and rechargeable, so you can put it on a bedside table, a desk or a dining table and move it around whenever you like. Tap the touch control to choose a warm, neutral or cool light, then dim it to suit the moment.

The design style: Mid-Century Mushroom
Mushroom-shaped lamps became a design favourite in the mid-century and 1970s, loved for their simple dome, slim stem and soft, downward light. Designers liked how a single curve could make a lamp feel friendly and sculptural at the same time. This lamp is mid-century-inspired: a rounded shade, a slender metal stem and a flat round base, kept small and modern for today's homes. It looks right with walnut and oak, boucle and linen, and clean white walls, and the four finishes let you choose between calm (white, black) and warm, glamorous (gold, silver).

Why it's worth it
A statement lamp that does not need a socket. The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. Touch control keeps the shade clean and simple, with no switch to find in the dark. Three light colours and smooth dimming let you go from reading light to a gentle night glow with one hand.

At 21 cm tall it is small enough for a crowded bedside table, but the wide dome gives it real presence on a shelf or sideboard.

Light and atmosphere
The wide shade directs the light downwards, so it makes a soft pool of light on the table rather than a harsh glare in your eyes. Choose warm light for cosy evenings, neutral for everyday use and cool light for reading and desk work. Dim it low in the evening for a relaxed mood, or use it as a night light in a bedroom or nursery corner.

Styling ideas
Place a white lamp on pale wood for a clean Scandinavian look. Let a black lamp add contrast on a light shelf or sideboard. Choose gold for a warm, glamorous touch beside a velvet armchair or a brass-framed mirror, and silver for a cool, modern feel on a glass or metal table. Two matching lamps either side of a bed look smart and balanced, and one lamp on a coffee table adds light without taking up much room.

For your home
It suits a bedside table, a desk, a dressing table, a sideboard or the end of a sofa. It is a lovely gift for a new home, a birthday or Christmas, because it looks good straight out of the box and needs no installation. Because it is cordless, it also works in a rented home, a student room or a spot where sockets are in the wrong place. For dry indoor use.

For designers and trade
A characterful, cable-free table lamp for boutique hotel rooms, restaurants, cafés, wine bars, show homes and rental properties. No wiring is needed, so it is quick to place and easy to move between rooms, and there are no cables for guests or staff to trip over. The compact 21 cm size suits small tables, and four finishes let you match a scheme.
